How to help Tom

Tom is nonverbal. He communicates with Proloquo2Go on his iPad. Keep the iPad within his reach.

  1. 1.Lower your voice and reduce the noise around him.
  2. 2.Give him space. Do not crowd or touch him without warning.
  3. 3.Offer his iPad so he can tell you what he needs.
  4. 4.Wait calmly and give him time to settle before moving on.

He covers his ears, rocks, or pulls away when he feels overwhelmed, he is self-calming. Do not restrain him.

A quiet space, fewer people, and a calm voice help him settle. Give him time and do not rush him.

The card prints in full black and white either way. For the nicest result, turn on background graphics in the print dialog. With the back included, print two sided and flip on the short edge.
